The Way In

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions are a natural part of the journey.

Whether you’re exploring psilocybin for the first time or simply looking for more information, I hope these answers help you feel informed, prepared, and at ease. If you don’t see your question here, I’m always happy to discuss it during your consultation.

Before Your Journey

Every journey begins with a virtual consultation and screening.

We'll discuss your intentions, relevant health history, medications, previous psychedelic experiences, and any other factors that may affect whether a psilocybin experience is appropriate for you.

The consultation is also an opportunity for us to get to know one another. Feeling comfortable with the person holding space for your journey is just as important as determining whether the experience itself is a good fit.

The legal status of psilocybin varies depending on where you live.

During our consultation, I'm happy to discuss the laws that apply to your location and answer any questions you may have about the legal landscape.

No prior experience is necessary.

Many of the people I work with are exploring psychedelics for the first time.

Preparation is an important part of the process. We'll discuss what to expect, answer your questions, and help you feel informed before your journey begins.

Preparation begins long before the day of your journey.

I'll encourage you to spend time reflecting on your intentions, minimizing unnecessary stress, and creating space to approach the experience with curiosity rather than expectation.

We'll also discuss practical details such as what to bring, clothing, music, hydration, and what the day will look like.

This is one of the most common questions people ask.

While psilocybin can temporarily alter perception, emotions, and thought patterns, most people remain aware of who they are and where they are. Throughout the experience, I'll be present to provide a safe, grounded environment while honoring your own process.

Every experience unfolds differently.

Some journeys are vivid and emotionally profound. Others are quieter and more subtle. Neither is "better" than the other.

Even when an experience feels gentle, meaningful insights often continue to emerge through reflection and integration in the days and weeks that follow.

During Your Journey

Plan for approximately 4–6 hours.

Every experience unfolds differently, so rather than following a rigid schedule, we'll allow your journey to progress naturally while ensuring you remain supported throughout.

We'll discuss dosing during your preparation session, as there is no one-size-fits-all approach.

When appropriate for the experience, psilocybin is prepared as a tea, which many people find to be a gentle and approachable way to begin their journey.

Yes.

Music can become an important part of the experience.

Headphones and an eye mask will be available, although you're welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Emotion is a natural part of many psychedelic experiences.

You may laugh, cry, sit quietly, revisit memories, or simply rest in silence.

There is no "right" way to experience your journey.

Not every moment of a psychedelic journey feels comfortable.

Sometimes challenging moments become the most meaningful.

Rather than trying to make difficult emotions disappear, my role is to remain calm, grounded, and present while helping you move safely through whatever arises.

Supportive touch is never assumed.

Before your journey begins, we'll have a conversation about boundaries and whether any form of supportive touch feels appropriate to you.

Nothing will occur without your prior agreement.

Generally, sessions are intentionally kept between you and me.

Creating a quiet, uninterrupted environment allows you to remain fully immersed in your own experience.

After Your Journey

We'll meet after your journey to reflect on what emerged, explore what felt meaningful, and discuss how those insights might be integrated into your daily life.

Sometimes the answers feel immediate.

Sometimes they continue unfolding for weeks or months.

Both are completely normal.

One of the greatest lessons from my own journey was realizing that the psychedelic experience itself is only part of the process.

A meaningful experience doesn't automatically become lasting transformation.

Integration is where insight begins to take root in everyday life.
